Ieva Notturno

Ieva Notturno is a Fellow at the Interactivity Foundation, where she is currently directing a project on ‘Human Migration’. She has assisted in IF’s project on ‘Democratic Nation Building’ and in two training courses designed to teach university faculty from Eastern Europe and Asia how to conduct student-centered discussion courses based on IF’s democratic discussion process.

Ieva was born in Lithuania and has a life-long interest in democracy and democratic deliberations. She earned her MA in Government from Georgetown University, where she concentrated in democracy and governance studies, specifically on democracy promotion strategies in Eastern Europe and their relation to different concepts of democracy.  Her other interests include political philosophy, history, human migration, and the rule of law.

Ieva was formerly the director of the European Integration Studies Centre in Lithuania, where she supervised initiatives to promote democratic values in Eastern Europe. She was also a project manager at the East European Studies Center in Lithuania. And she has held internships at the Lithuanian Embassy and the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington DC.

Ieva enjoys tennis, skiing, and traveling. She also enjoys opera and ballet. She currently lives in Washington DC with her husband Mark and son Karl.
