Jack Byrd, Jr.
Jack Byrd, Jr. is the President of the Interactivity Foundation and a Professor of Industrial Engineering at West Virginia University (WVU). He has been on the engineering faculty at WVU since 1968. He is the Executive Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and Development, Inc. (CESD), a public charity that provides technical and managerial assistance to organizations in West Virginia. CESD was initially supported by Jay Stern, the founder of the Interactivity Foundation, who was also CESD’s President for a number of years.
Jack teaches the capstone courses in Industrial Engineering and an elective course in facilitation. He also teaches all incoming freshman in the college and works extensively within the college on retention. Many years, Jack has as many as 1,000 students in class and over 250 advisees.
Jack’s experience in public policy is as a facilitator. He has facilitated numerous public panels, including transition teams for three Governors of West Virginia. He worked with Jay Stern for many years and helped to develop the Interactivity Foundation discussion process.
