Applications are still open for the Interactivity Foundation’s online training for educators and practitioners interested in becoming Collaborative Discussion Coaches. The training offers a deep dive into the Collaborative Discussion Toolkit, a collection of learning activities developed by the Interactivity Foundation (IF) with educational and community-based partners. Through small group sessions and one-on-one consultations, participants will be empowered to use the toolkit to design and teach a coherent pathway for their own certificate program in collaborative discussion. Applications close at the end of the day on Saturday, May 15.

- June 2 – June 8, 2021 (virtual), with additional responsibilities before and after the training
- $300 stipend awarded to participants

After completing this training, successful participants will become coaches and able to deliver their own, tailored certificate program in collaborative discussion to students in a classroom, in a co-curricular program on campus, or in a community workshop (we are open to a variety of settings). Collaborative Discussion Coaches can then award the IF Certificate in Collaborative Discussion to successful students or community members (actual certificates will be distributed by IF).
Collaborative Discussion Coaches Will Gain:
- A deeper understanding of the pedagogical intent of the collaborative learning activities
- The ability to adapt, implement, and string together activities to create a coherent pathway for participants to progress in their collaborative discussion skills as part of a certificate program
- A shared understanding of competency in collaborative discussion skills and the ability to assess participants in the certificate program
- A game plan for offering a certificate program, such as a revised syllabus or workshop plan
- A deeper connection to other members in this community of practice, including:
- Working with others to develop collaborative discussion skills and practices
- Building this community of practitioners through sustained communication with each other and with IF
