We’ve heard the classic version of the American Dream: home ownership, a salaried job that allows for prosperity, ability to provide for one’s family, savings, and eventual retirement, and the ability to acquire high quality goods and services, such as health care or a car. Does that American Dream still exist? And what’s the New American Dream? For many of us, we’re wondering about how we’ll get by or how we can get ahead — or at least manage not to lose what we have.
