Carla Short is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of West Virginia University, where she earned her degree in Management Information Systems.
Carla began her career at Mylan Pharmaceuticals, rising through the ranks from System Administrator to Validation Analyst, and ultimately serving as Validation Manager for the Global IT Department. Her work there strengthened her expertise in systems integrity and global compliance.
She later joined RSM US LLP as a remote consultant, specializing in FDA IT Compliance, where she helped clients navigate the complex intersection of technology, regulation, and quality assurance.
Now, returning to her alma mater, Carla brings her professional insight full circle. As Program Assistant to Dr. Jack Byrd, she supports students in their academic and professional journeys—helping them bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world impact. In partnership with the Interactivity Foundation, she’s proud to help cultivate the next generation of thoughtful, engaged professionals.
