How can we move beyond fixed thinking to unlock more adaptive, joyful, and innovative ways to work together—even in challenging times?

Featuring IF Collaborative Discussion Project (CDP) Visiting Fellow Dr. Don Waisanen, this upcoming Creativity in Collaborative Discussion Workshop explores how creativity strengthens collaborative problem-solving, whether in the classroom, corporate office, or community. You will get an exclusive introduction to brand new CDP Toolkit activities, not yet publicly released, designed to set the stage for innovation and collaboration while fostering joy and a sense of shared connection. The session also includes a brief overview of the Toolkit itself, which is full of both new and time-tested activities that create positive climates for discussion, promote creative ideas and interactions, and enable flexible thinking in the face of even the trickiest problems.

Don, a professor at Baruch College (CUNY) and Columbia University, is a pioneer in using improvisation to strengthen civic discourse. His book, Improv for Democracy, equips leaders to foster creativity, adaptability, and better public conversations.

During this workshop, you will:
