How are you guiding and assessing student performance in discussion?

For those of you teaching an IF sponsored course this spring, your second blog post should focus on the ways you are providing feedback and guidance to your students, whether as discussion facilitators or as discussion participants. As you think about these issues, you might find it helpful to review Sections Six and Seven of the Guidebook for Student Centered Discussions. Tell us about some of the following:

  • How are you assessing facilitation? How are you assessing group performance for your student groups? Are you using any forms of peer assessment?
  • How are you guiding your students’ performance? Are you consulting with facilitators and groups (pre-and/or post-discussion) to offer guidance?
