Jack Byrd, Jr.

Jack Byrd, Jr. is an Emeritus Professor of Industrial Engineering at West Virginia University (WVU). He began his teaching career in 1968 and has taught more students at WVU than any other professor in the history of the University.  Dr. Byrd is also President Emeritus and Chief Innovation Officer of the Interactivity Foundation, an organization devoted to the exploration of possibilities for issues confronting our society.  Dr. Byrd is the founder of the Center of Entrepreneurial Studies and Development, Inc. (CESD), an organization that provides technical and managerial support for West Virginia organizations.  Dr. Byrd created the website universitysurvival.com as a resource for students as they go through college and their early careers.  Dr. Byrd also created the website jackbyrd.org where he archives inspirational messages for alumni and others.

Over the course of his career, he has mentored more than 130 senior executive leaders in businesses across America.  He also regularly teaches a course on entrepreneurship from which a number of businesses have been created.
