IF’s co-venture to build an integrated online partner supported by a network of civic organizations has made some important strides of late:
- The organization was formally incorporated as “EnCiv”, but will do business as “CivNet”. CivNet will be the public-facing name of both the organization and platform. The old name, “USATalk”, is being retained in case it proves useful as a label for a piece of the platform.
- Additional technologists have been added to the team, including a specialist in computer architecture.
- Work is progressing on a designing the platform’s user flow, a prototype, and a compelling narrative to communicate the CivNet concept.
- CivNet founding partner Ballotpedia announced partnerships with Facebook and Twitter to provide the tech giants with impartial election information.
